Ceramics Taster: Mixed Techniques Class

In this session, you’ll experience time on the potter’s wheel as well as simple handbuilding techniques. You might explore basic throwing on the wheel – such as centring clay and beginning to form simple shapes – alongside accessible handbuilding methods like pinching, coiling or simple slab work. The emphasis is on having a go, exploring the materials and enjoying the process rather than achieving perfection.

With a maximum of 4 students, the group is kept small so there’s space for guidance, questions and individual support. The atmosphere is friendly and informal, making it a welcoming option for complete beginners as well as anyone who has tried pottery once or twice and wants to explore further.
